I heard about an open trainee position at Avant through my student network. Avant's business model and the professionals in the team caught my interest and I decided to learn more about the company and applied for an internship. I met two key personnel at Avant for an introduction and learned more about the business and culture of the company. At this point I had already identified a huge career opportunity and I was more than thrilled when I was offered the position as trainee in the investment team.
From day one at Avant, I got assigned interesting, challenging and value-creating work tasks. The low bureaucracy and the front-row seat was true. Already after a few weeks at the company I was in direct contact with our clients, some of the largest firms in the investment world. Instead of learning with other trainees I got the opportunity to team up with senior team members, with wide and unique experience from real estate investments and asset management. The encouragement from the senior team members as well as the appreciation for the work done supported me to grow quickly in my role as a young investment professional.
During my first year at Avant I finalized my MBA at Aalto University. Having played ice hockey all my life, the sport is an important part of me. For me it is crucial that work can be combined with an active and healthy lifestyle and at Avant that is possible. Here everyone manages their time, creates their own routines and work style, one can choose to separate work from personal life or choose work-life blending.
This was a glimpse of my journey at Avant. I am looking forward to many exciting years ahead.
